"she uncovers underlying tension beneath the surface"
— Klassik Heute

Anastasiya Bazhenova is a pianist whose performances explore the fragile boundary between structure and emotional intensity, shaped through contrast, tension, and a refined control of sound. Her playing unfolds with a strong sense of architecture and colour, where precision meets emotional depth and a carefully measured dramatic progression.

Born in Voronezh (Russia), she began piano studies at the age of four and was admitted to a ten-year programme for gifted children. She later continued her studies at the Voronezh Academy of Arts with Arcady Dubovik, and earned her Master's degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Jens Harald Bratlie.

Her early musical formation combined a rigorous classical training with recognition in international competitions.

Anastasiya performs across Europe, presenting both solo and chamber programmes built around carefully shaped contrasts of character, texture, and emotional space. Recent highlights include her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, solo recitals at the Palermo Classica Festival, and concerts in Vienna and Oslo.

Her debut album From Mendelssohn to Madness (Etcetera Records), released on 1 April 2026, traces a trajectory from lyrical clarity to emotional extremity. The album has been broadcast on France Musique and BRF1 (Belgian Public Radio).
